Another Demo Day… Saturday 9th November

We would like to announce ANOTHER demo day!

On Saturday 9th November Sherwood Pines Cycles will be giving mountain bikers the chance to try out some of the latest Diamondback bikes they could upgrade to when they make their next bike purchase.

Diamondback’s sister company Haibike will also be in attendance with some of their latest bikes too.

Diamondback are bringing a selection of bikes including their full suspension Mission and Sortie models featuring their Knucklebox technology system along with some of their 2014 29” Hardtail bikes.

Haibike will have a selection of models including e-bikes and high end carbon full suspension bikes.

Demo Day

The event will run from 9.30am on the day and will have staff on hand to provide information about the bikes and set people up to have a go on a short demo loop.

Members of the Diamondback and Haibike product teams will also be on hand offering riding tips and finding out how the bikes perform as they plan their 2015 models.

During daylight hours bikes can be taken for hour-long demo rides with the first bikes going out from 9.30am. Riders should bring photo ID (driving licence or passport) to leave as a deposit. We would also recommend that people bring their own helmets a pedals however, the bikes will be fitted with standard platform pedals should you not have preference. Helmets will be available to borrow form Sherwood Pines Cycles. We recommend bringing your own trail tools (multi tool, tube, levers, pump) with you when riding.

At 3.30pm Sherwood Pines Cycles will be organising a special night-time ride with all bikes fitted with Moon’s high powered lighting units. The led ride is expected to cover 15 miles through the challenging terrain of one of Britain’s most famous forests. If you are interested in taking part in this exciting experience, please speak to a member of staff at Sherwood Pines Cycles or visit to sign up.

The event is also supported by Muc-Off cleaning equipment, Slime puncture prevention, High5 sports nutrition and Schwalbe tyres.

British Heart Foundation: Robin Hood Bike Ride, Saturday 26th October

As well as the Saddleback, Felt Bikes Demo Day…

There is another fabulous event in Sherwood Pines on Saturday 26th October!

Explore the scenic stomping ground of one of Britain’s best loved folk heroes by taking part and trying one of our four exciting new routes for 2013.

Cycle 6, 15, 23 or 40 miles through Sherwood Pines whilst enjoying Nottingham’s beautiful autumnal forest and helping the nation’s heart charity.

Robin Hood Bike Ride event information

New for 2013 – 4 routes to choose from 6, 15, 23 and 40 miles all of which follow traffic free cycle paths, tracks and bridleways. Some will however include road crossings.

6 mile: The perfect family route, exploring Sherwood Pines forest along the beautiful Adventure Cycle trail, totally traffic free.

15 mile: Extending on from the 6 mile route around Clipstone Park. This route includes road crossings and bridle paths and sections where you will need to dismount and lift your bike over a small railway sleeper (this ensure the paths remain free from motorbikes). Suitable for beginners and newer riders this is a great way to explore outside the forest.

23 mile: Continuing north from the 15 mile route, for intermediate riders, this route navigates around Sherwood Forest Country Park and past the famous ‘Major Oak’ before returning to Sherwood Pines forest and joining the fun Adventure trail to finish.

40 mile: For experienced riders, this ride continues north along the National Cycle Network trail 6, passing around Clumber Park and then heading back south to Sherwood Pines Forest for a lap of the forest, before finally finishing a big day of riding.

The Scott Scale 735 has a super light carbon fibre frame, Rock Shox forks and Scott’s Remote Lockout technology for an optimum ride. As well as 27.5″ (650B) wheels!

The all new Genius 930 features a totally re-designed frame optimised for 29″ wheels. The 6061 alloy frame is offered in 130mm travel and high end component spec. This is THE ultimate Big Wheeled Trail bike!

Please call ahead to reserve a demo bike as they are often booked up and we would hate to disappoint if you turn up “on spec”.

It costs £25/hour to rent a demo bike and we will gladly refund these costs in full if you buy a Scott or equivalent priced bike from us.

Two forms of ID (one photographic) are to be left with us for the duration of the hire. These are kept securely in a safe.

All cycles are hired at the discretion of the owner.

You are required to read, complete and sign a hire agreement before taking a bike out.

Helmets are to be worn at all times when on a demo bike. If you don’t own one, we will include one in the price.

The bikes will have standard flat pedals on. If you wish to use your own pedals, please bring them with you and our mechanics will put them on. (we don’t carry any demo pedals in stock!)

Most of all we want you to enjoy the demo bikes and enjoy the time you have them on hire. Treat yourself, you know you want to!
