Please Read :)

Hello everybody…

We love hearing from you, we are really busy and the phone keeps ringing with the same questions.

  • We are open as normal, with measures in to protect staff and customers from Covid-19.
  • Bike hire is open every day, we have a lot of bikes – we don’t take pre bookings – Prices and info are on the Hire Bikes Pricing page.
  • We have a lot of bikes in stock, supply is short in some brands but we will always try our best to find what you’re looking for.
  • The workshop is busy and there are wait times for service work, our mechanics are some of the best so they will try and get you sorted as soon as they can.

Please bear with us, we will do our very best to look after you all.

erm, we are shut tomorrow!

Closed Saturday 23rd May due to high winds

After all this weeks hard work to get open by the shop staff the shop will now not be open tomorrow Sherwood Pines Forest Park due to high winds.

We should be back open again Sunday after safety checks have been done.

This is due to The Met Office issuing a weather warning for high wind.

All the car parks, facilities and trails at Sherwood Pines will be closed.

Sherwood Pines Cycles apologies for any inconvenience this may cause – we fully support the Forestry Commission decision, as visitor safety is paramount.

Guess Who’s Back!

That’s right we are back open this Saturday, 23rd May!

We are spending this week putting in the necessary Covid 19 measures to keep both staff and customers safe.

This include screens and going forward limiting the amount of customers in the shop, washing and sterilising all necessary surfaces throughout the day, keypads will be sterilised after each use. Contactless and card payments are preferred.

Staff will wash their hands at set intervals so please have patience if they disappear suddenly.

There will be no public access in the back or workshop areas and please no huge groups in the shop as we will have a oneway system in place.

The workshop will be open but please ring the bell and wait outside the gate and while our mechanics will do their best to get you going, please bear with us, jobs may take longer than usual.

Hire will be open we have a new area for this which gives us more room to Social Distance so we ask that just 1 person from your party comes into the hire area and we have plenty of room to queue 2m apart.

All bikes and helmets will be sanitized after each hire and medical gloves will be available at hire point if you so choose.

We do ask that you wash your hands as soon as possible after hire at the on site toilets which the FC will be opening on Saturday.

We have been shut for 8 long weeks which means we have a good stock of new bikes for all budgets, from Cube, Marin, Orbea, Scott and Merida.

We have some really nice Full Suspension bikes from Orbea, Marin, Scott, Lapierre from £1300 upwards. We have a small number of kids bikes like Orbea MX24, Scott Roxters.

And! We have E bikes in stock as well.

Just before we shut some new to market Fiveten jerseys landed as well as some of the shoes too – in fact we have plenty of summer clothes in stock and the weather is looking good!

Finally, we have really missed seeing you all, our customers and friends and regulars and we look forward to seeing you Saturday and beyond 🙂

We are Shut…

We are now shut until further notice, in line with Forestry England’s decision to close all facilities in the park.

We fully support and respect this decision, it is absolutely the right thing to do to stop the spread of Covid-19.

The sooner we get through this, the sooner we can get back out and get on with the summer.

We at Sherwood Pines Cycles thank all our customers, friends of the shop and visitors to the park for your continued support – we’ll be back soon!

(if any of you have bikes with us, we will be in touch to get them back to you asap).

We Are Still Open – An Update

!!! UPDATE !!!

We are open and we plan on remaining open as long as we are allowed. However we have a number of things in place to reduce the risk to both visitors and staff.

We really need everyone to think, be respectful of those around them and care for strangers as much as we care for our friends and family.

If you have any of the symptoms of coronavirus, or have been in contact with anyone who has had those symptoms, please do not visit.

Exercise social distancing at all times, whether in the car park, visitor centre or forest, maintain a safe distance between all others. Respect visitors and staff alike by maintaining at least a 1.5m gap between yourself and others.

The cafe are operating a take out service only.

The number of visitors permitted within the cycle centre could be limited if we get busy and we will open our outside hire shed.

The shop, whilst remaining open, access will be restricted due to available space in the retail area. Please be patient with staff, they will do their best to help you – We are cleaning, sanitising and washing our hands throughout the day.

Our hire bikes are cleaned and sanitised after each use and there are complimentary nitrile gloves and hairnets in store for you to use when you hire a bike.

When out on the trails, ride within your abilities at all times. Do not take risks, wear a helmet. Do not be a burden on the NHS.

Come and enjoy the forest, your friends and family but please remember for a while we won’t be able to get as close as we could before. But we can still enjoy each other’s company and the forest is a great place to get away from it all – take your phone with you but don’t look at the news for a while.

Thank you for taking the time to read this public service announcement from Sherwood Pines Cycles 🙂 We want to see you out and about for as long as we’re allowed.

We can all beat this together. Keep trying, stay safe and look after each other.

We are Open as Usual…

Hello Everyone,

It’s a strange world out there at the moment but we are open for business as usual and we will be until told otherwise.

Precautions are being taken, we are washing our hands (we always did anyway!) we are sanitising hire bikes, door handles and surfaces – we are as clean as we have ever been!

Nitrile gloves are on the way for you to wear when you’re hiring bikes – we also have some very fetching hairnet things to wear under the hire helmets too (don’t worry you can’t see them when you have got the helmet on!)

So get out there in the fresh air, ride your bike, hire one of ours, walk your dogs and spend some time in the fresh air – we’re biased, but the peace and calm of the forest is the best antidote to all this crazy stuff – come and smile and forget about it for a while 🙂

If you are showing any symptoms of Covid-19 though, please try and keep away, we have family at home we want to keep safe too 🙂

The feeling of a real All Mountain with the little extra power that will make the difference.

We have a duty to offer bicycles that can be fitted to everyone’s needs. Our requirement was to offer a different product for “electro-sceptics” or people who want to switch to a softer engine.

We have therefore combined the best of our know-how to create a new generation of eMtB AM. A smooth and jerk-free engine that is totally forgotten when you ride more than 25 kph, leaving the possibility of free pedalling without resistance and without noise.

A promising autonomy to provide maximum pleasure. A precise bike in the driving, which allows you to position yourself correctly and easily.

The eZesty is certainly heavier than a non-electric MtB in the same category, but this overweight is quickly forgotten when it comes to riding in committed singles.
