A reminder that as the new year has started that subs for the club are now due for renewal.

Were working on what the deal will be, as most of you wont want a new top were imagining. So weve got to sort out a price.

More info to follow re perks etc.

We'd also l like your views and opinions on what we can do for 09, so next time you're in let us know.

Prize giving
Monday, September 8, 2008, 11:31 AM - Announcements

Nick Craig - International banana balancer of the year 2007 (bananas under 5" category)

Wednesday the 17th will see prizes dished out by Olympiad Nick Craig. He will be also on hand to dish out any technical info about Scotts (if you can catch him).

On a seperate Nick Craig related note has anyone noticed the similarity between a young Craigy and Lucas Black star of such mediocre films as Jarhead and F&TF Tokyo Drift..

Dont forget final time trial of the month on 17th.

As per last year, places staggered according to your overall position at the end of the season.

Food at the prize giving, so come along - you may just win something.

Wharncliffe follow up
Wednesday, September 3, 2008, 03:56 PM - Events
Yes i know its taken a while, but i've been on holiday, alright!

Firstly a big thanks to all the interpid members who went to a rather slippery Sheffield last month. It was a hectic couple of hours of us versus the elements and rapidly fading light. But in true downhiller fashion I had everyone riding down and pushing rapidly back up to make the most of what light we had.

The tracks were either rocky, slippery or muddy and in some places the rocks were slippery and muddy giving the best (or worst) of all three worlds.

Crash of the day has to go to Martin Hogg whom on cue of 'i bet someone comes off here' went straight over the bars to the lovely creaking/groaning noise of carbon. Luckily it wasnt his frame...

There were lots of crashes, myself included with a lovely over the bars in a rock garden episode.

Kamikaze as he should be known hit absolutely everything seemingly without fear, despite a couple of crashes that drew blood, riding as though he was astride a 8" travel downhill plough and not mere XC bike.
