Re-opening Saturday 3rd March

Sherwood Pines Cycles will be open from 9am on Saturday 3rd March –

The Forestry Commission have been working tirelessly to get the park open for the weekend after the significant snowfall and adverse weather of this week.

Sherwood Pines Cycles will be closing at 3pm.

Sherwood Pines Cycles WILL NOT be hiring bikes out as the trails have been deemed unsafe, please see below the following statement from the FC:

“We are pleased to be able to confirm that Sherwood Pines will be open tomorrow and Sunday. Unfortunately, due to the snow of recent days and the continued sub-zero temperatures we can only provide limited access.

The ground conditions of snow and compacted ice mean that only the main car park close to the visitor centre will be open. We would ask that visitors avoid parking on the roads around the car park and the main drive.

All bike trails and walking trails will be closed. Unfortunately due to the difficult driving conditions on the forest roads, niether our ranger team or the emergency services will be able to provide assistance to visitors in the wider forest, should the need arise”.

Sherwood Pines Cafe will be open as normal for hot drinks, hot food and a warm welcome from the the cold.
