Mansfield Rotarian’s Charity Bike Challenge
30 years after she last rode

Many Thanks to Sherwood Pines Cycles
Recently MANSFIELD Rotarian Cate Hunt got on a bike loaned to her by Sherwood Pines Cycles for the first time in more than 30 years — and cycled 122 miles in two days to raise money for three charities.
Cate joked she had discovered that the old saying, “once you have learnt to ride a bike you never forget”, just isn’t true!
Despite scrapes, bruises, and punctures, Cate’s training went well and she completed the two day ride from Mansfield to Scarborough “safe and sound — and still smiling” accompanied by Maldwyn Johnson who is a regular cyclist and kept Cate on the right trail.
The pair raised money for Mansfield Young Carers, Mansfield Music and Drama Festival, and Rotary Ambassadors for Deaf and Hearing Impaired.
A big thank you goes to Sherwood Pines Cycles for the loan of a cycle to Cate which in turn raised over £1000 for local charities
