2016 Midlands XC – Round 1 – Sherwood Pines

A great start to the season for one of our riders, William Gascoyne.

Will took First Place in the Junior Mens Race. His race report is below:

I was second off the line and soon moved into 1st place with Cameron Orr on my wheel, we worked together and put a large gap into to the rest off the field with in the first lap.

I tried to make a move half way through the second lap but over cooked a corner and crashed, Cameron went down in the same place and we were back together again.

I got away from him when he slipped his chain and I capitalised on my lead to take the win by over 4 minutes.

I really enjoyed the event, and hope I can replicate my performance at Whinlatter this weekend in the lake district.
